Tasting notes :
Colour : amber with coppery highlights.
Nose : intense and expressive. Notes of ripe tropical fruit, orange peel and candied citrus mingle with dried flowers, sweet spices and hints of toasted oak. Subtle hints of vanilla, honey and light tobacco develop with aeration.
Palate : powerful, structured yet balanced. Flavours of mango, apricot and stewed pear are followed by citrus zest, clove and white pepper. The influence of the oak adds depth with nuances of cocoa, toasted nuts and a slight herbaceous touch.
Finish : long and warm, with lingering notes of spices, dried fruit and oak that slowly fade to give way to a refined and slightly floral aftertaste.
Grape variety : Ugni blanc.
Harvest : 1989.
Distillation on lees.
Ageing : over 30 years in French oak cask.
Best enjoyed as a digestif in a tulip-shaped glass.
