Tasting notes :
Colour : amber with golden highlights.
Nose : both powerful and elegant. Complex, with notes of flowers, fruit and spices, jasmine, narcissus, dried fruit (walnut, almond), candied fruit, woody notes, rancio, leather and blond tobacco.
Palate : complex, round, balanced. It reveals a rich aromatic palette blending exotic fruits, vanilla, honey, chocolate, liquorice and old Port.
Finish : long, spicy, with remarkable freshness.
Grape variety : Ugni blanc.
Cru : Petite Champagne. Clay-limestone terroir.
Harvest : 1970s and 1980s.
Distillation on lees.
Ageing : over 40 years in French oak casks.
Best enjoyed as a digestif in a tulip-shaped glass.
